Are these tires too small? What size/brand tires are you guys out there with the stock 15" rims running? I wanted something wider/lower profile than the stock 235/60/15. Will these tires do that? Any input appreciated.
A 225 is narrower than a 235. Im running 235/60/15s BFGs on my other Firebird, they look okay for 15s. Low profile tires on 15in. rims will look strange in my opinion, there would be too much gap between the tire and fender.

Are you using factory (7" wide) wheels? The diameter of the 225/50s will be about 2¼" too short in diameter, and throw your speedometer/odometer off by about 9½%.
One option with 15" wheels would be 255/55-15, which would be a stretch on 7" wheels. If you have 8" wheels, they should fit without too much crowning.

I'd go with at least 225/60/15s... they are a little taller and are very close to the factory height. If they are too much different, your speedo will be inaccurate.
my speedo already reads about 10 below what it should (40 mph) at 50. I checked out these tires at the store and they are approximatly the same width if not wider than the factory 235/60/15, due to the 50 vs. 60 in sidewall height to tread width ratio. I have the stock 15's, so would 245/55/15's be a good choice? I would like to get at least a little bit smaller diameter tire so my car doesnt look like its sitting on balloons like it does with the stock 235/60/15's. Does anybody make 245/55/15's? I figured if the 255's are going to be a strech i might as well just take it down one step. thanks
I was running 255/50/R15's on the back and 225/60/R15's on the front. I just got another set of 225/60/R15's for the back and the car handles much better. It also might be noteworthy that the set of tires that came off the back had a bad bad crown-wear pattern.
I have 235/60/15s on the front and 255/60/15 on the rear on stock 7 inch Z28 rims. I used to have 245/60s on the rear and I like their look better and are just fine on the 7 inch wheel.
My car had 225/50s on the front when I got it and it looked absolutely ridiculous.

Not really, I can still do burnouts real easy. I used to have 235/60/15 all the way around and could scratch the tires going into 4th gear, but can only do that into second gear now.

I have the 235/60/15 all around. I'm not racing, and not canyon carving, and I'm too old for anything more than an occasional screech from the light. I'm also a tight @ss! I got Yokohama Avid S/T from tirerack.com for about $230 shipped (all 4) - and they work for me.
