high beam switch???

so I have to fix my high beam switch so I can get my car inspected, I took apart the panels that are behind the turn singnal since that is the switch for the highbeams. there were two cover pieces and one small piece that was in there, I don't have a pic of it but hopefully someone has a diagram of how that is supposed to be put together. I can't figure out how the pieces go together so that pulling the turn singal towards me acivates the switch. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, my high beams don;t work either on my 89, but the engagement operation must be different than yours. If you get on your back and look under the dash while pulling the lever for the high beams, you'll see the mechanism moving around just to the left of the steering column. When you see it, reach up and engage it by hand by pushing back on the white plastic piece that is connected to the metal push rod. Once the lever gets worn out, it just won;t engage the mechanism anymore. See if you see what I'm talking about. If not, then we have two completely different engagement mechanisms and I can;t help you...LOL.

oh ya you should try one bright working at a time. When one is dim one is dim and when the other is dim the other bright you get the idea. Darn wiring gremlins
