I'm in the process of fixing my inline fuel pressure gauge (cross-threaded), so I was thinking of putting some RTV sealent on the threads, but I'm not sure if it will not corrode away from exposure to the fuel. Or if not that, I especially don't want it dissolving into my fuel line, and being feed through the system.

I wouldn't take the chance-What about Teflon tape? (use the yellow type). Is the damage so bad that you don't have any clean threads to use after filing/reaming the fittings?
How much did the gauge cost? Maybe take it to a shop where they can braze a new fitting on?
I think RTV is gasoline resistant but I don't think it will hold up under any kind of pressure.

Ditto. RTV don't work around fuel so good.

If you want a sealant that will look for a little bottle of "Gasket Shellack" in the same aisle where they sell the RTV stuff. Comes in a little brown bottle. It's decades old technology that I use on a REGULAR basis to this day. Works around fuel, oil, coolant, you name it. And it works extremely well. When I want a fitting sealed up dead-bang, no questions asked, this is what I use.

just to clarify, gas will dissolve rtv sealent.

No it won't. It softens it, and causes it to loose its adhesive properties, but it doesn't dissolve it.

How do I know? A friend had another friend install his fuel press-reg and filter. This friend put RTV around the AN fittings.

It clogged the fuel filter AND the jets. It wouldn't have done that if it would have dissolved.

it does dissolve it, slowly. let a dab dry out then put it in some gas and watch. it'll take a while....but it will dissolve.

Thanks for the bs sign though, real nice. One thing i like about message boards is that if you dont know something and ask a question, you'll rarely get a response. but if you just state something about the topic you know isnt true as the truth, then other people will jump on the chance to prove you wrong. Thus giving you the right answer.

Try Permatex/Loctite PST pipe sealant instead.
