I was reading an article, it said you can put a smaller pulley on the supercharger and get some more boost out of it. What would this do to a stock engine?? My buddy has the 3.8L chevy V6 supercharged, and wants too know would this cause any damage to the motor?? What other things would you wanna do to add this smaller pulley??

I'm not aware of any supercharged 3.8L 6 cylinder Chevy engine. What car is it in?
I am very familiar with the Pontiac supercharged 6....I have one in my '99 GTP. It has a 3.4" diameter pulley instead of the larger stock pulley (3.8"?). I also added a cold air induction kit to take fresh air in right from the fender. These 2 simple mods plus other equally simple tricks have really made an impact on this car! It plain hauls a-s-s for a full size family car. I currently run low 14's in the qtr.
Other guys have installed even smaller 3.0" & 3.2" pulleys and run very low 13's and even some 12's!! All of the mods for the GTP are bolt-ons and really make a difference.

Sorry bout that, you are correct, it’s a 3.8L Super-charged Pontiac engine. The same one you have actually, except its in a Bonneville. Where did you get the pulley and the cold air induction from?? Is there a web page like thirdgen.org for the 3.8L cars??

I got the pulley ($70) and the SLP cold air kit ($199) from the grandprix store at "grandprix.net". You'll also need a pulley install tool available from the same store or you can ask if anyone has one for rent in your area. I'm sure you can find someone to even help you with the install. That's how I did it. I paid a guy $20 to use the tool and to help with the install (1 hour).
Another hot item is a reprogrammed PCM (computer). Since the GP has an electronic trans, the new PCM changes shift points and firmness, removes the speed limiter, adds timing and fuel and a few other tweaks. This mod is a major improvement over the stock computer program.
The other website is "gp-owners.com". The format is almost identical to this site.
Let me know if you need more info on this engine!!
Could you not make your own pulley (providing you know a machinist).
Scott what year is your GTP?? My buddy's Bonneville SSEI is a 94. That webpage "grandprix store" says its for suping up 97-2000 models. I was curious what the differences between a 97 3.8L and the 94 3.8L are??

I would not suggest making your own pulley. I'm sure the factory tolerences are too close for anyone other than a properly tooled pulley maker to match. Look at the stock pulley and I think you'll see why.
I have a '99 GTP. The GP started using the supercharged 6 in '97. I don't know if there are differences between your buddy's '94 and my '99. The '97-'01 GTPs have Eaton superchargers if that helps.
Tell you what: I'll ask the question for you on gp-owners.com under "Scott C". Look for it in a few minutes. I'll be on the message board under general questions.
