annoying bump at part throttle

My car is a 91 z28 305 speed density that was a 700r4 converted to a T-5. After the car warms up it gets funny throttle response. It feels like a torque converter lock up. Just saying thats what it feels like. I was thinking it might be the tps. Im not sure. Any ideas?

Does the car idle rough? When was the last time it was tuned up? Storing any codes? Since your car had multek injectors I would get multi meter and test the injectors. Could be one, or more, are on theie way out.

My 91 formula had this problem. The dealer replaced the #7 and #2, only to have 1,3,and 5 go bad a year later. The car really ran like crap. Solved the problem for good by replcing all injectors with bosch design units.

Good luck
William

If your crusin at like 30mph and your foot is off the gas and you give it any amount of throttle it bumps funny. Feels like when a torque converter wont unlock. It's not a consistant problem but when it happens the car is warmed up.

From what you're describing, I would say it's only normal. Did you just convert to a T-5, and if so, have you driven a manually shifted vehicle before? All cars have a little play in the driveline. You can feel this play in a manually shifted car because the wheels are locked to the engine. When you're coasting down the road with your foot off the gas, the wheels are pushing the motor. The bump you feel is transmitted when the engine spins through the driveline slack and resumes driving the wheels.

Gentle manipulation of the gas pedal will result in smoother operation. Just one the quirks of manually shifted vehicles that one must get used to.

The car was converted over about a year ago. Its has never done this and still does not do it all the time. Could it be somthing with the torque arm or rear suspension?
