Well, I found a leak from my oil pressure sending unit. I manage to get the old one off, but I'm having difficulty putting the new one on. The unit is by the distributor behind the intake manifold, but the lip of the sending unit is making contact with the back intake maniold bolt. The old one came out with a little bit of trouble, but getting the new one in is a whole new issue. I went looking for an extension, but I couldn't find one with the same thread patter.
It's been raining, so I haven't really been able to spend a whole lot of time trying to put the new one in. I don't think that my ratchet is going to break the intake manifold bolt loose, and I'm not sure pulling that out is going to be a wise choice.
I've noticed that there is enough room for the sending unit if I could turn that fitting that it goes into. Is it possible to just turn that 1/8 inch, or is that no good either?
Did mine just turn itself to an akward position over the years, or did GM design it like this? If so, that's a crappy design. But, I guess sending units aren't supposed to breakdown too often either.
