Car: '89 Formula Engine: 305 TBI Transmission: Auto | Motor stumbles and dies when warm OK...been reading through the posts and found that vexter had the same problem. He cured his with a new distributor and coil.
"Back in the day" this symptom would be automatically diagnosed as a bad coil. With all this "whiz bang" 'puter stuff, it never crossed my mind.
My car is an '89 Firebird, 305 TBI.
My question.....I get a "code 44" after the car "acts up".....could a bad coil produce this code? Does the coil have anything to do with the injectors?
Also, I need to say, it will run all day sitting at an idle in the driveway...unless...once its' warmed up and has ran for a while, if I load the alternator heavily(produce a major voltage drop) I get the same symptoms. | | |
