Hey guys, I was looking at the description of the 274h Crane Energizer Cam and it seems to be what I'm looking for...rough idle, not too high of an RPM range and it's a street/strip cam. Is it too much for an L98 though? It’s a manual L98...the only mods I’ve done to it is converted it to carb. Edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock 4bbl 650cfm carburetor, and a blue Holley electric fuel pump. I was planning on maybe porting the heads and defiantly getting some headers, and maybe a bigger carburetor (700 - 750cfm maybe? I don’t want to go too big) what do you guess think/suggest? Would I have to upgrade any of the valve train if I get this cam? Or should I upgrade the valve train?
Here are the specs of the cam:
Application
Rough idle, moderate performance usage, good low and mid-range torque and HP, mild bracket racing, auto trans w/2500+ converter, 2600-3000 cruise RPM, 8.75 to 10.0 compression ratio advised. Basic RPM 2200-5200
