Please help me this sunday im racing my friend... he has a nice 98 firebird v6... it has some package but i dont think its performace.. he has 200 hp and like 225 torque i think thats what they come with... all he did to it was a muffler... i have 305 v8 tpi.. auto so... 205 hp i think 275 torque or something... i have flowmaster exhaust... please tell me if im going to loose.. his car is new and it has alot of pull.... also.. i put a brand new flowmaster exhaust on my car and its not even loud??? what the hell.. i didnt change the converter u think thats it??? because its barely louder and i thought it would be very loud... any suggestions would be appreciated thank you.. . ~Jason

its going to be a virtual toss-up if he's a 5 speed. An auto is a little slower than a 90-92 305 TPI auto car. Both are low/mid 15 second cars.

Yeah, those new 4th-gen 3.8 V6's give out some pretty decent power! Heh, they can actually beat the new Mustang 4.6 V8's... what a kick in the butt for Ford.

I have driven a 2001 4.6, and there is now way a 3.8 Camaro is out running it. Maybe the like 97 4.6's that were dog slow. Not the new ones. Im sorry but they are a lot faster with what ever they changed on them this year to give them a few more ponies.

86 Trans Am 355 TPI Rebuilt 700R4 with Corvette servo, modified valve body, and a B&M Torque Converter (2000 rpm stall w/ lock up), 87 350 block bored .30 with new crank. Reworked 305 heads with 3-angle valve job. My cousin has a 2001 firebird and he would always smoke me bad, after some bolt ons i was able to beat him by a car and a half.
and i have a 92 rs 305 tbi with a 700r4..
so you shouldnt have any problems
