anyone with brodix track 1's?

I can get a great deal on a set of these heads already ported and polished with a port matched single plain intake. My question is do you guys think I will be able to keep my stock bottom end together @ 6000RPM with an Xe274. I know that these heads flow to 7000 and the cam will be good for more too, but Im really leary of my bottom end and would like to know if I can run this engine like this until I get the funds for a built short block.

Thanx

I have a set of T1s. They were being used on a 400 but I had 4.10 gears. I don't think you will be too happy with 3.42s and a single plane on a 350. That's a little much port volume with that gear. You got a big converter and that might be the saving grace.

Some thing you might check is the valve springs, the T1s come with 1.55s for roller cams. You can probably take out the inner spring and be about 125 lbs seat.

I think the bottom-end will hold. I seen old 350s go 6500 manytimes. Just get a revlimiter and set it at 6250.

You are changing from a 268 to a 274XE?

here is my .02. get the heads for the great deal. then sell them. buy something that fits your application a bit better. the track 1's have big vales and big ports. it is going to hurt you low end. I am always swaping crap around. I have a set of the phase II bowties and I got them so but cheap. like $200 they need head work to flow like some of the competition. I will just sell them for $500 or something and buy a set of iron eagle heads (550 per pair)and have $250 in the iron eagle heads.
