what is the factory maintenance schedule for our cars?

I did a search, and didn't get any conclusive info.

But if anyone knows, what milages are the scheduled tune-ups and what is involved in one? I keep getting my "service engine soon" light, started around 85K mi and now I'm a 88K.

I'd much rather do the maintenance myself and save a little.

The maintenance schedule will be in your owners manual. I would scan to see what exactly the code is that your car is throwing.

I know, I've looked. it says "for owner convenience," my inconvenience because I don't have one, "a seperate booklet has been provided to outline the maintenance your car requires."

I bought my car twice used so apparently it vanished from space and time. I guess I'll just go to GM and get another if they still make them and they aren't exorbitantly priced.

Plus the owner b'fo me had the rusted exhaust replaced, and neglected to include a cat at all. My friend told me that Advance Auto Parts will scan a most cars' ECU's for free so I might try that too and then check the board's code list.

Thanks
