convert your existing 90-92 speedo to 145....

ok, now that i have your attention, heres my discovery.

i have a friend that just bought a 90 with a 145 speedo. i was going to ask him if i could swap gauge clusters with him, before he resells it. but before i even brought the subject up, i decided id do a search.. heres what i found:

http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/show...+145+speedo%2A

http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/show...+145+speedo%2A

apparently the needle moves as if its a 110 speedo still, even though it has the 145 face. what does this tell us?

well if we can find out whats diffrent about the signal being sent to the speedo, we can make our 110 gauges move like the 145s.

then you just put a diffrent overlay on there... much like people already do for custom gauges.

i know the signal comes from the ECM to the speedo... i need to know whats diffrent.

so heres the question.... signal wise, whats diffrent between the 110 and 145 speedos?

if anyone can explain why a 145 speedo cluster behaves like a 110 cluster when its in a orignally 110 speedo car, please do.
