I have a 8.5x15" rim and I was wondering what size street slick I should run. The car is a 91 RS camaro. I was also wondering what type of tire I should run. I was thinking about the BFGoodrich comp T/A Drag Radial. It is 26.1" tall and 10" wide. Right now I can run around 12.7 but I know I could do alot better with street slicks. How do they handle and how fast to they burn off? What do you guys think? Thanks
I have heard nothing but good things about the BFG drag radial. I'm not into drag racing these cars much, but that's what I'd run if I had to. Just my opinion.
Hey man, well I'll tell you what I know from friends who run them. BFG Drag Radials are very good. My friend has a LS1 that run them, and it seems to do good. They handle nice and still launch well. I have another friend with a LT1 who runs 12.9 who runs Nitto Drag Radials. His is great on the strip, and handles great on the street. I think the Nitto win out by a little cause he launches SICK on the street with out heating them up a whole lot. My friend with the BFG's isn't as lucky. Now for all out hooking go Mickey Thompson ET streets (I think thats what their called) They are BAD *** , I've seen a car pull a wheel stand at the track in these babies. (they had a large sidewall though) Only prob with these is they arnt to great on the Highway speeding from what I heard. The side was tend to sway on these, so handling is a loss on these. Well man thats all I know from friends and articles. Hope I helped somewhat.
I want something that is going to hook up good on the street. Right now with my 245/50/16's and they suck. I burn them off when I launch. so I think I do some research on the nitto's. Thanks
I used to work at belle tire and they always sold the et streets to anyone who wanted slicks. It is true that they don't do well on highway driving. They wear out really fast but I'm sure that is with all slicks not just those.
