I was working on the car over the weekend and found this connector that isn't connected to anything. It comes from a large loom that runs along the firewall and is situated on the drivers side beside the distributer. It doesn't go to the ignition module, and have no idea where it should go.
Look here , I found the same (I think??) connnector on my '87 L98 and it seems that it wasn't used right from the factory. Probably just GM's way of reducing the size of their parts bin to decrease overhead. You'd think they could of still put it on the schematics to keep us from wondering...

It does indeed have a black wire and a pink one with a black stripe. So from reading your post it seems there are a few of us out there with this setup.
Sounds like it's the infamous "mystery connector", that does nothing and goes nowhere, in the car. I suspect it's something like a factory test connector for applying power at some stage in the mfg process, but that's only a mildly educated guess.

Yup, doesn't plug into anything. That darn thing had me chasing wires for months. When i pulled the engine, i labeled everything, and upon reassembly that unlabeled wire showed up.
Holy crap, I can't believe it. I haven't been hanging around these boards in a few months, but since I have been working on the car a lot lately I thought I would see what is new. I found a mystery connector today when I was changing the plugs, but I gave up the idea of finding what it was because it would be way too hard. I click on this thread and surprise, I find the exact connector. It doesn't seem like it does go anywhere, but it does seem weird to have a random connector just sitting around. Can anyone conclusively proove this doesn't belong anywhere, other than that we all seem to have one sitting around. Thanks a lot.

The fact that there are numerous people with the connector just sitting there is proof enough for me that it's for nothing. As RB said, maybe it's used during the manufacturing process. Who knows though.
