Will a set of 275/50/16 drag radials on 15x7 Firebird rims fit? need answer fast!

I am planning on buying the BF Goodrich Drag Radials in the size 275/50/15, and putting them on a pair of standard Firebird rims 15x7 I believe. I was curious if these tires will be too wide and possibly rub anything on the rear? BTW: Going on an 1988 GTA

they will fit on the rims, although not optimally, but I don't know about rubbing.

they will fit...however they may rub at the top of the fenders during conering or harsh bumps...if you want to run this size tire all of the time then you might want to consider finding a way to raise the rear of your car by about an inch...i ran 275/60's (not drag radials tho) on the rear of my T/A for a couple of months and they rode very well except for the driver side tire rubbing occasionally...you might want to also consider going to something like a 255/60...that is what i have now and there are no interference problems at all

These will just be used to drive to the track, race, and back home. That is all the use they will get. I just wanna make positive that they will not rub.

Depends on your suspension mods if they will rub or not. The 275/50 is going to be too wide for a 7 inch wheel, especially for maximum traction.

the tire's will have no problem's on the car, but a 16" tire, is not going to fit a 15" wheel

As said above, a 16" tire won't fit on a 15" rim. BFG makes a DR size of 275/50/15 and 275/60/15 which will fit your rims. These tires are recommended for rims 7-11 inches wide. The 60 series tire has a 28" diameter and will/may rub on extreme bumps (had 28" ET streets that did that). The 50 series diameter is 26.1 (same as stock 245/50/16 tires that came on 3rd gens) so they shouldn't rub at all.

Sparks a flyin'

PS - I'm thinking about running the 50 series on some 15x7 Weld Prostars I have.
