May sell my car - should I?

1992 Camaro RS with 48,000 original miles, Medium Quasar Blue with brand new all black interior, plus the mods in my sig, plus many, many more new parts installed...The car has only been driven about 100 miles in the past 5 years

The mechanicals of this car are 95% new...if it could be replaced while a mod was being done, it was replaced. The following catagories have all new parts:

Engine
Fuel
Exhaust
Trans
Clutch
Suspension
Cooling
Interior
Wheels/tires

If I were to sell this "almost new" Camaro, what should I ask for it?

I hate to seem ugly or whatever; but I doubt you'll get 25% of what you have in it.

You can probably get closer to 60% or so of what's tied up in it, by parting it out.

Seems harsh, I know; but that's how it usually seems to work.

Mods DO NOT equal investments.

That is very true. You can post it for sale but chances are you either won't be able to sell it or you will just get bad offers. Someone may be willing to pay a decent amount for a camaro with that low of miles...but I doubt it. Unless you are real hard up for money I would hang onto it. You will miss it someday.

That was my thought too...I know I would regret selling it.

I was hoping for a rough idea of what it is worth...If I have $20,000+ into it, I should only expect $5,000 (25%) if I sell it? That sounds way too low for this car compared to others I've seen in that price range...

Car: No more birdy
Seeing the mods you have in the car makes one realize how much of somthing equals nothing in the end.

You may get 10K from a hardcore 3rdgen lover. I'd expect at least $8,000 just for the car since its low milage and thats what real nice ones go for here in the lots (5-8).

I can understand why you want to sell it... you're pouring money into something you have driven less than 5 times in 5 years. Solution -- drive it more, or stop modding the crap out of something you dont use... or both

I agree, drive it more and you will quickly realize why you bought it and dumped so much money in it in the first place. You won't get much back from the money you put into it, so if you sell it now, you basically spent all that time and money for nothing except knowledge. Go drive the hell out of it and enjoy what you've put into it.

These cars won't be going up in value for another ten years, I imagine. When you're done romping on it for a few years, rebuild it again and you should see some more desirable return numbers.
