exhaust manifolds get RED HOT!

just noticed on the left side of engine that the manifold gets super hot i mean it glows! at night!! and burning my spark plug wires and melting them! plus the car doesnt run good at all its real sluggish at take off and hesitakes alot durning aceleration... like theres a blockage also i have had the manifold gaskets replaced and i think before this it ran like that but no where near as bad as now... any idea what i should do i wanna fix it my self

did you check you timing? i think if its advanced to far it can cause this. and maybe a plugged cat but i forget from what i have read here.

Just one side is doing it? Only one side? If so, you may want to check the wiring on your injectors on that bank. Most likely they are dumping fuel and those cylinders are running rich.

ummm when this happened awhile back i noticed both were glowing red... now seems like left side is alot hotter but the right isnt as hot

my 84 s-10 with a 2.8L did the same thing it was my timing. it burned a hole in my rotor. I also gutted my cat (sounds bad) just in case

If it's on both sides, chances are it's the timing. Have you checked f/p?
