What's next?

Well we all know good things must come to an end. And 2002 being the last year that F-bodies will be produced, this leaves me thinking "Whats next?" It was going to be 2001 but they were thinking about another year. The only reason they decided going one more year is because its Camaro's 35 birthday. Ive also heard talks of a 5th generation to begin in 2004 (35th anniversary firebird). Ive heard of some new car with FWD following in the Firebird's footsteps. Not like GM doesnt have some sort of trick up their sleeve...

The camaros are going to be taking a one year vacation from production. The next camaros WERE going to be front-wheel drive but enough people lobbied and complained about that. (Who'd want a front wheel drive camaro anyways?) So apparently, there's going to be an all-wheel drive Camaro coming out with a version of the LS-1 engine with overhead-cam designs. And apparently the body-styling is going to be somewhat similar to the first-gen camaros.

However there is no word on the status on the Firebirds.
