K&N extreme lid

Is it worth 55.95. I have K&N with stock single snorkel. Would the lid be of an advantage without some time of cowl hood ?

I don't think the extreme lid will even fit on a stock air cleaner housing. It's designed to fit on the top of a 14" open element assembly. If you get a 14 x 3" open element, the extreme lid won't be nescesary, you'll already be getting more than enough air through the filter. Not to mention if you still have the insulation under the hood you'll probably just be smothering the lid in that...
