How's this for a 305?

Its an 83 305 with a performer rpm, holley 650.TH350,stock converter,3:73,headers,flowmasters.It ran a best of 14.82@93mph.Running WAY to rich and stock timing.Should I be pleased with that?

Eh...... It's retty good. Nothing earth shattering. Seen them in the low 14s/high 13s with maybe a few more mods than you have (namely- torque converter).

You mention stock timing. I hope you're not still using the OEM computer controlled distributor. Without the original equipment computer controlled carburetor in place the timing curve supplied by the computer will be pathetic.

On the other hand, if you've repalced the computer controlled distributor with an aftermarket non-computer controlled distributor then what are you using stock timign settings for? Bump that puppy up!!

I think the carb is screwed up.I have had the mixture screws from all the way in to 2 turns out and its still way to rich.Actually the distributer is a mallory unilite. What could cause the rich problem still? The car is a 87 Formula with no computer parts at all.
