State Emission Test Update

Hi Folks,
I have not keep you folks updated what I have been doing to get my modified 92 Z-28 through Maryland State Emission inspection. First I tried all the recommendations people make like, resetting the timing back to factory setting, changed 160 to 195 degree thermostat, put back the factory pulleys, and added Coleman fuel to my gas. Well, it did not work and my numbers were worst. So now I have to spend the $300+ to get a waiver. So I went out purchased Random Cats for my car. I had them installed and went back with my for the third test. . When we pulled the old Cats, they looked good and only had 27,000 miles on them. I had my paperwork for the waiver but they make you take the test over anyway. To my shock, I passed the emission test. My number went from 1.9262 to .2630 HC (limits 1.2 GPM) and CO that was over 20 on the second test went to 12.5936 (limits 20.0GPM). I could not believe the results. The test results are very depend on who drives the car, this time the supervisor drove it and the result are great. Most of the time, I hear the tires spinning when they have to accelerate. Maybe the Random Cats are that good or my old Cats were bad – but it is interesting. I wanted to pass this information to you folks
Talk to you later
