Coolant in oil

I have just pulled the Heads off and they look like they were solid and I dont see any pistons that look cleaner than the rest. The only wierd thing is that the first bolt I pulled (the ones right over the spark plugs on cyl 1) coolant came pouring out of the bolt hole. So are the heads warped or did i crack the block?

Thanx in advance

Coolant came from the bolt hole b/c the tap into the water jackets, that's normal. Did you pressure check the system before you took it apart? Could have been as simple as an intake gasket. Take the heads to a machine shop and get them pressure tested and to check the decks for true.

The intake gasket was good. I tried pulling the intake and drained the oil then reassembled and there was about 1/2 gallon of coolant in the oil again after 200 miles. If the the coolant coming out of the bolt hole is normal then it must be coming from either a cracked head or a cracked block. It might have frozen and cracked because im an idiot an only ran 25% coolant and never added more during the winter. I should have ran some cyl pressure checks before i pulled the heads but I didnt. If the pistons look normal do you think it would be the block that is cracked somewhere. If it is, could that be repaired or should i be looking for a new block.

If there were no signs of coolant in the cylinders then that leads me to believer that it was getting into the oil pan through the lifter valley somehow. Either the block cracked somewhere in the valley or the intake gasket around the cooling ports was leaking coolant into the valley. Cracked cylinder or head would most likely lead to the coolant finding it's way into the cylinders. How are you certain that the intake gaskets were ok?
