Mystery roller camshaft I.D.

I recently aquired a roller camshaft which I plan on installing in a 383 O.E. roller motor for daily highway use. I have no info on the origin of the camashaft. It appears to be for a SBC GM roller motor. I have not yet instelled it in the project motor. But here is all I currently know; cam lift is .300" and stamped on the end of the cam is 158 97L
395WB 66
Does anyone Recognize this cam or part#?

you want to run a cam with .3" lift on a 383?!?!?!

You would be making more power with that cam in a 305...

Definately want to get something better in there!

yea...

and about a 180/180 duration and a 115 LSA

Buddy, you should definately look into a new cam. It would be a night and day difference in power, plus you might need a small base circle cam to clear the rods.

Re: Mystery roller camshaft I.D.

It tunrs out to be; 14097395 (GM HT383 crate motor) camshaft. Specs, intake lift/duration@.050 .431/196, exhaust .451/206. It is all I can afford as it was new and cheap, and gobs of torque in my cruise RPM range.
Thanks, Andy
