5.3L Vs. 6.0L Vs. Sc 355???

Ok heres my problem. I just got a new car to mess with. I know its not an f-body.. but will be using a f-body power plant. Its a 86 Monte ss. Motors gone in it. What engine should i use. Cost is a little factor here. First.. a 6.0l. those cost around 2000.00 for a good one. 2nd.. a 5.3L. those are around 1000.00 for a low milage one. Or i have all most all the parts sitting around to build a l98 with a ati procharger. Dont have the intake or serp setup though. Should i build a stout 355 with a supercharger or have full drivabilty with a ls based motor?? Help. Oh yea.. anyone want a 305 with a rod knock>>75k miles!! Thanks!!!

A supercharged 355 will have full drivibility and have much more power than the LS based motor.

I believe chevyhiperformance did a build up of a 6.0 and made some serious stump pulling numbers with it...Throw the supercharger on it and you'lll have some serious power. Just my opinion.

The 6.0 and 5.3 motors you are refering to are Gen III mills. They are not a direct swap into these cars (or your monte) and do require some special work/parts/set-up.

I disagree, LSX motors are far superior in every way. Add boost and they still have better drivablity than gen I or II motor.
