Oil Bypass Valve
Does anyone know any thing about a oil bypass valve that goes in the oil filter housing on a 91 3.1 RS? What does it do? Do you need it installed?

It lets unfiltered oil bypass the filter if the pressure drop in the filter is too high, like if it was badly clogged. If you leave it out, you'll have unfiltered oil circulating through your engine all the time.

it fell out during the last oil change, but i got a replacement, any tips on installing it? does it use a screen to filter or what? thanks
