I have searched for over 2 hours thru all 109 search result and cannot find the answer to my question so if i missed it please be gentle.

Do these heads require a vortec intake or can i use a regular one. If i do need a vortec manifold which would would you suggest for a 305 build up.

no i am not going to build a 350 so dont recommend over and over and over.

those are the 416 heads... They should take perimeter-bolt valve covers.. Those heads will have the standard chevy intake manifold pattern.. The 14011081 heads are the centerbolt versions of that head, and use the '87-'95 bolt pattern (the same as the older except the center pairs of bolts are canted more vertically).. The vortec heads came out in 1996 and use 8 bolts (a pair in each corner) that go into the head vertically (perpendicular to the ground)...

So the answer to your question is standard chevy intake manifold bolt pattern, non-raised ports..

"416" heads? As I recall, those are on my 305 HO, so it's a '86 -earlier SBC head. Regular intake will fit.

4416 are the common as dirt 86 and older style carb heads, cars and trucks, 58cc some 1.94 and most 1.84

if you port and pocket them and such then tey can flow pretty good, ive run these on a 355 engine before with TRW flattops, ran really really strong with a stock cam and intake even, with 1.94 valves put into them and milled down a little bit, with 3.73 axle ratio though

i have a set right now off an 86 c-10 pickup i need to do up, and save for whatever, whenever, most likely will end up in the 82 t/a

good luck

yea i am planning on either the holley intake or the edelbroc. right now i have the tourqer II and was gonna use it and then i realized i was a f-in retard that is way too much for the 305 so i am gonna kick around and try to trade it to someone for a edelbrock or the holley. i still need a carba and i am torn between the q-jet and the edelbrock 600 i can't stand adjusting carbs every time the weather changes lol.

Im running the center bolt versions, 58cc "081s" with a
Crane 282 Hyd. roller cam on a TPI 350 setup, plenty of
power for what I use the car for.

With proper love, the only drawback to the 416*/081s is
they are iron, but cheap and plentiful to obtain !!

Good luck on your build
