LG4 Cam advice

I have a 1986 Z28 camaro with the LG4 carbed 305 its all stock with all the smog etc the only mods ive done are a 3 inch flowmaster cat back and a K&N filter i want a bigger cam but i also want to keep all the smog and computer controled carb on and i dont want to have a check engine light on any advice ?

The Comp XE256 is known to work well in that motor. Crane also has a cam that's similar.

You're looking for about 210-214° @.050" on the intake, and a somewhat bigger exhaust lobe than that. But not the Summit cheeepie, something better (more modern) than that.

So that Comp XE256 will work with the computer and not throw codes ? and i can retain the computer controlled carb and distribuitor ?

Thats great how much hp and tq increase do you think it would do on that stock LG4 with a flowmaster 3 inch cat back and a dual snorkal aircleaner with a K&N

I have an LG4 in my 83 Z-28. I went with the XE-262 and I am very happy with the results No check engine light and idles nicely on the street. Here is a sound clip of mine. I have edelbrock headers and a flowmaster cat back.
