Re: buying new fuel injectors help!

depends on what ur doing, ur stock 305 has 19lb injectors and if u boost the fuel pressure they can support 300hp with ur 305 mabye 350hp. it depends on what ur doing to ur engine and wat fuel pressure ur gona run. if ur injectors arent bad and if ur not doing alot to the motor like cam, heads, intake etc i would just get an adj fuel pressure reg and set it at 50psi, that will give u more fuel that u would need for what ever ur doing. and only cost u 60-90$. if u decide to get new injectors for ur stock motor dont go higher than 19lbs, 22's like the 350 would be too much. and dont get cheapies, buy bosch or good name brands u dont wanna skimp on quality with injectors.

Re: buying new fuel injectors help!

well i am going to install a adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

but these r the original injectors and if i'm taking the runners and plenum off to clean and polish i might as well do some work on teh fuel rail and injectors.

i just want to know if i should go to the dealership or is there an aftermarket brand taht will be more reliable and more worth the money for stock/long life/reliability/ and reasonable price.

Re: buying new fuel injectors help!

already have brand new throttle body and k&n cold air kit. cleaning up the engine and tryign to figure out what is causing me to have a rough cold start.

car runs and idles fine once warmed up. ive already purchased the coolent temp sensor and cold start switch.

already going to install the afpr and while im at it i just wanna cover all my basis now instead of keep taking the plenum and other parts of teh engine apart everytime i try to narrow down the problem.

already been through the tuning and adjustments and new IAC. set my tps.
new cap/rotor/ignition modual/wires/plugs

oil flush/filter

car is a project and wasnt treated great by previous owners. so might as well do some overhaul on the basics and see what i get.

like i said car drives fine but needs a boost in power and reliability. already passed emmisions.

so just curious which injectors i should buy that are reasonably cheap and from who
----------
i just want a nice joy ride/cruiser, nothing to race but just to have some fun with and can handle a heavy foot every now n then

Re: buying new fuel injectors help!

well if ur gona replace them accels are good, Bosch are great, ur injectors are prob fine if ur passing emissions u could just send them out to be flow tested and cleaned maybe even rebuilt, why pay the extra money if u dont need to. if ur car runs fine when its warm its not ur injectors its ur cold start injector which has been discontinued....so ur not gona find any replacements out there, the 50psi fuel pressure increase will help ur cold starts as it did with mine. if ur sensors are good and have been replaced and it only happens when the engine is cold my guess is the cold start injector, u should also replace the O2 sensor bc ur car will run like crap cold if that is bad or going.
