Anyone have issues with AFR L98 plug angle heads and SLP 1.75'?

I'm ordering new heads tomorrow hopefully and I'm torn between the straight plug design and the L98 angle design. Currently I'm running AFR 190's with straight plugs and have minor issues with burning up boots. Just wondering if switching to the L98 angle will benefit me or if I'll be shooting myself in the foot.
