Map or MAF 88 IROC

I just bought this car last week, I do know the car sat in a garage for a couple years, other than that i do not know much. it is an 88 iroc vert 5.0. HO 5 speed. The car runs rough, seems like it is running very rich too. check engine light was on, bought a cheapo diagnostic tool, came up with codes 34 and 14. code 34 in the book said mass air flow circuit or map sensor. I changed the mass air flow and the code went away but it is still running badly, possibly worse. so, i went to NAPA and they showed a listing for a map sensor so i bought it. but does this car have one? do cars either have a map or maf? I cannot find the map sensor and am beginning to think there isnt one. the other code was 14 which is the coolant temp circuit, so i cnaged the coolant temp sensor, that did nothing and that code i still have. any suggestions? it seems to run well at steady throttle at like 3k, foot off the gas, stalls. please help.

Re: Map or MAF 88 IROC

85-89 TPI cars are MAF. 90-92 TPI cars are MAP. They have one or the other, not both. But sometimes GM uses the same codes for different engines, which is why it says MAF or MAP under code 34.
