Mini Starter...whats the advantage?

I know they are obviously smaller and lighter but what are the advantages? I just bought one from Summit and I know they work with both 153 and 168 tooth flywheels which is good and I heard they are more torquey?

Re: Mini Starter...whats the advantage?

They fit into a tight area especially if you have large tube headers.
They're much lighter which cuts a lot of weight off the car.
They're normally more powerful. They can produce more HP to crank over a high compression engine easier.

Not all mini starters are made the same. Many use cheap parts in them and won't last as long as a factory style large starter.
