ok, heres an update...
i removed the valve covers, and checked everything...
rocker have no up and down play, pushrods are straight...
i run the engine with the valve covers removed, no noise appearant...
rockers move fine, no abnormal things to observe...
only thing, the rockers have a good amount side play (you can turn them a bit with the hand), and every time the pushrod runs to the guide plate, theres a small "click"
oil comes fine from all lifters...
i put the covers back on, started the car, noise is here....
the noise seems to come rather centered from the engine, seems to be direct under the intake.......maybe a wiped cam lobe??
hooked up datamaster, no knocks, timing is fine.. i pulled the plugs, fine tan color...
any ideas?`
thank you
I have aluminum roller rockers on my 355, they are very noisy. When I first started the engine I thought the rockers were hitting the valve cover. It seems to be the nature of the beast, big valve springs, an agressive cam and roller rockers = tick, tick, tick.
