I have an 84 camaro, 350 carburated engine. A b&M megashifter...i think its giving me some issues with the neutral saftey switch....but im not quite sure if anyone had a bad neutral safety switch. Had this shifter in about a year. was at the drags i guess the switch came loose and didnt want to start, i pushed the switch in so it can make contact to the metal of the shifter and it started. But now it wont start like that no more. I can start it by making contact on the starter's pos and neg posts... Just wont start by the key. It doesnt crank, it doesnt click, it doesnt do anything. Anyone got any ideas on what it can be? And if anyone have a b&M shifter instructions and can scan the pages for me id appreciate it.
jumper the purple and yellow wires from the factory shifter plug if it starts ok. change out the micro switch. B&M website has shifter install directions. DJ

do i connect the yellow and the purple together? Thanks alot for the info about the b&M website helps alot. need to see what is the starting wires and everything.
already checked the fuses. It could also be the relay.. thanks for helping, im open to other suggestions as well.
and also what is the micro switch u r talking about?
Ok i connected the yellow and the purple wire as u told, it started right up. Is it ok to leave them connected for the time being. or just for the start? Im thinking its the relay, i dont even have my reverse lights on anymore . But thanks, atleast i can move my car
You can leave them connected just make sure the car is always in park as it will now start in gear. the micro switch is the neutral safety switch on the side of the shifter which is where your backup light switch is also located. the last page of the B&M info tells you how all this works. I just got done installing a Megashifter and went through the same problems just make sure the switch is contacting the correct spot on the shifter. Good Luck DJ
If you have access to a multi meter check the switch for continuity. if there is none the switch is bad. These are available at any B&M dealer.
