Certainly wasn't stock. Did a previous owner put overlays in? Pics?

I once sold a 240K Canadian speedo cluster (140 American), IIRC, but i've never seen or heard of a 160 in a Camaro. You might put this on the History board.

I doubt that the speedo is rare (I found one in the middle of Kansas after all--but maybe THAT's rare). Check with the north of the border guys, if you're really interested. Good luck.

Would love to see any pix you have. I have stripped a few of these cars, never heard or seen anything like it. Definately start with the history section, if this thing was put out from the factory, someone on this board knows abbout it.

Re: 160mph speedo

this speedo is as factory as it gets. I bought the car in 1991 off of a mother that purchased brand new after her divorce in 1997. and she was not a car freak she thought it was cute exact words. I have doubt it was stock also. but there is no way she did anything to it. like I said she was car savy at all. She drove it from dayton ohio to cincinnati ohio every other day . when I bought it it had barely 17,000 miles on it. Only thing that was wrong was where she had drivin over a parking curb and screwed up the pass side ground effect. This is A 1987 5.7 Iroc with t tops. has anyone eveer seen a 1987 5.7 liter with t tops I had heard that this was a special order car you could only get from canada in 87. you had to wait till 88 to get the 5.7 with t tops

Don't think so. Aftermarket all the way. Why is it important that the speedo is OE?

I bought mine from Corvette Clinic as described in the e-bay add above in 1983 for my DT500. Other speedo shops still do the conversions. 1983 Trans Am not Camaro.

Thats not true, there are plenty of 87 350 cars with t-tops out there.

Doesnt really matter if it looks stock, or if the original owner isnt car savvy or doesnt care, all kinds of things happen during the life of a car. The dealer could have swapped it out when they got it in.\

Definitely post a picture, probably looks like the one in the article and others that have been posted on the history board here... kinda like this one

Swap in a 115 or a 140.
