Stock rockers vs roller rockers on press in studs

I have been going back and forth trying to factor in all the variables for a new camshaft in my high mile L98. I have 2 cam choices and 2 sets of rockers, one is an LT1 cam, the other is an LPE 24216 cam, for the rockers I have a set of 1.6 roller rockers (on the motor with the stock cam) and the stock stamped units. If I run the LPE cam on the stock rockers I will have a max of .470 lift the LT1 cam on the 1.6 roller rockers will be .480 (really close to guide contact). I've decided to stick with the LPE cam and the stamped rockers but my question is, is it more likely that a stamped rocker will pull a head stud out than a roller? It seems to me that the trunion bearing on a roller rocker would really reduce the pressure going into the stud. Finally which setup do you think will perform the best? I know my stock heads pretty much suck after .400 lift so I'm thinking the LPE cam with the factory rockers will make more power than the LT1 cam with the 1.6 rollers and be on the safer side. Thanks in advance guys.

I don't think either one would be more likely than the other to pull the studs.

I really don't think .470 lift or .480 lift and generic ".550 lift" Englin springs will have the gusto to pull a stud but I've been laid up recovering from surgery so I think about this stuff constantly. If I was able to get out and move I would probably already have one of these cams stuck in there I also think with my setup the biggest gain over my stock cam is going to be the additional duration of the LPE cam and the narrower lSA (112 vs 115) where the LS1 cam would be going the other direction in lSA (115 to 117).

Yes, the LPE cam will blow the LT1 cam away performance wise.
No worries pulling pressed in studs. We've done it for years on many motors....120-130 lbs on the seat, 325-350 lbs open....no problems.
The ones you hear about pulling usually have coil bind going on and/or trying to lift higher than the rocker slot allows.

hmm, .470 lift shouldn't be a problem on stock rocker slots should it?

Re: Stock rockers vs roller rockers on press in studs

yes .470 lift will usually cause issues with stock rocker arms. You can't run a full roller rocker because the belly of the rocker will rub on the stud boss if you could even get it down far enough on there to adjust the valves at all. So the options are long slot stamped rockers, or roller tip rockers.
