86 iroc z28 wont start

hey everyone i have a 305 4bbl carbed iroc z28 that wont start. i put a fresh battery in it put gas in it and primed the carb and attempted to start it but it would only turnover and try to start but it would die.the previous owner ran it outta gas and it wouldnt start and it sat at his house ever since.

It could easily be a bad fuel pump. A quick check is to spray some starting fluid into the carb and crank it over. If it fires off and dies then you are not getting fuel. Next step: Disconnect the fuel line from the carb anput a cup under it and have someone crank the motor a few times to see if you get fuel. It will fill a six ounce cup in about ten or fifteen cranks. So if you get a few ounces out of several cranks then you are getting fuel to the carb but into the engine. If you get little or no fuel then you need a fuel pump.

yeah im not gettin any fuel. where would the fuel filter be located?

when i turn on the ignition there is a turning kinda noise like a belt going around a squeaky pulley but there is no pullys turning it is coming out of the area near the passenger side near the windshield wondering what that was?
