The following system seems complete: 12497698 - Small Block Chevy Serpentine Accessory Belt Drive System "Deluxe With Air". Any installation hick-ups, or is the installation pretty straightforward? Tips or tricks for the conversion would be welcome.

Hi James, I'm getting to install my serp parts from a '90 RS too. I think that GM kit is almost the same the TPI parts. There are two things you need to be aware of. The first is pretty obvious the A/C and alternator swap sides, so you'll have to run wires and lines. The other is the older blocks don't have the second accessory hole on the passenger side. You have to drill and tap one. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that if I just drill only 1/2" it won't hit the water jacket.
Hit Summit and type in the above part number. Then look toward the bottom and you'll see a GM installation procedure that appears to be VERY helpful (torque values and p/n's).

Take note of what the guide says about those holes. Beyond the kit, I'll need the A/C hoses, a bit of wiring for the A/C compressor (GM 12101937), and a smog delete pulley (GM-6167), though not absolutely necessary, I guess.

Actually the fuel line I purchased from Classic tube clears, but I have of issues. How is the stock line run? Mine passes between the water pump and timing cover.

Stock placement. I found a member who'd converted his 83. He says that the line wouldn't fit and that he was forced to cut it and run a rubber line. My line was previously cut to accommodate my Holley.

My bad, the kit contains the smog delete pulley (Pulley, idler lower), p/n 10129569. Anybody have an idea of approximately how long the swap will take if I'm prepared with the necessary parts and air tools?

Thanks, I may. I saw that link a day or so ago when I was researching--I wanted to know that the kit was pretty much a bolt-up (and that no drilling/tapping would be necesssary). Pics show three holes on each head of the HO, so I believe I'm good to go in that respect.

Haha no problem, won't really get to for at least 3 weeks though. Thats when I can park my car in front of my apartment again, street laws I also have to finish rebuilding my alternator and buy serp blades for my clutch fan. Think there is any problem with spinning the clutch backwards?
I'm currently running the GM "Deluxe" conversion on my 84 TA. I don't recall having a problem with the water outlet at the wp. One problem i did have, was my block was decked so I had some clearance issues to work out.

You wouldn't because (as I discovered this morning) the water pump from the kit has the threaded hole that I need. For those not using the kit, the GM p/n is 88894005 or from CarQuest AUT 10-444 (reman) or NWP 51-2180 (new).

Well I don't know for sure, but I don't think its relocated much if any. Depending on the bracing behind it you should be able to reuse your lines. The setup I pulled off of '90 Jimmy 4.3L has a stamped brace for the alt and p/s which will interfere with the lines. The TPI and TBI setups use a bar to brace the alt. I haven't seen any factory bracing for the p/s. So there shouldn't be an issue there. I haven't test fit my p/s yet, cuz its a bit of a hassle, but I plan on using my Vbelt pump and so don't plan on disconnecting lines.
Hey James, How did your install go? I'm almost done with mine, but I can't get the A/C brace to fit, the TES headers. How did yours go in, got any pics? The system is out of a 92 RS, but I believe its identical to your kit.
