water in my oil
A little background info
89 L05 block, stock, 416 heads pocket ported with 2.02 1.60 installed. Torker II intake.
Decided to pull the oil out and change it, something just told me to.
Well we got water in the oil. Chocolate milkshake style.
I have only run the motor for about 30 minutes total since the head and cam swap.
So I decide to start pulling it apart
1st thing my damn base plate on my holley bust in 2 pieces. The ear where the vacuum port for power brakes is. No big deal though, just got my 3310-1 rebuilt. wheew........
2nd thing is my valve covers when I got them off have this white thick slick material on the tops of them. It is thick. WTF is this stuff? And I can clearly see water mixed in the oil here in the heads as well.
3rd thing is my intake did not seal I dont think. The front of it where the front water passage is you cant even tell there has been an intake bolted down to it. And around the center bolt holes the gasket is all mushroomed up kinda funny. Hate I forgot the camera, I will get pics tomorrow when it is light out.
Do I need to pull this thing down even further? I really dont want to because head gaskets aint in the budget right now being I need a new intake I think.
Do yall think this intake sealing problem caused my oil + H2O problem or not?
If I put it back together and water gets back into the oil again, how long before yall reckon we will be pulling the bottom end apart?

you should drain all of the oil. All of it. pour some more oil through it with the plug out to get as much crap out as you can. Then crank till you get oil pressure. This should get the water out of your bearings, where it is most damaging. Then, do a compression test, and check that portion of the head gaskets. To be honest, you cant do a cooling system pressure test with the intake off, so if you put it all back together, you may end up taking it all apart again, if it is the headgasket.

so I can do a compression test with the intake off though?
This will tell me if I have a blown/nonsealing head gasket?
What shall I look for in the compression test?
Should I leave all plugs in the motor and only take the one out I am working on or take em all out?
