lg4, 305 h.o., or vortech heads?

I have a bone-*** stock 87 Formula with a lg4 w/ q-jet. The motor runs perfect with only 79,000 miles but I am wanting a little more power. I have a 4 bolt main 350 short block ready for heads and am wondering which head has the best bang for the buck. Should I use the original 305 heads and put in bigger valves, use the h.o. heads or buy a whole different intake and put the vortech heads on? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Bret

Re: lg4, 305 h.o., or vortech heads?

What is the casting number of the heads you have now?
If they are the 081 heads you already have the equal to a "HO head" but with centerbolt valve covers. 87+
Takes more than just bigger valves to bring out the power. Needs a full port effort. The potential is there. You have to invest the effort.
Its a bit time consuming.
Vortecs are a great bolt on. Hard to go wrong there.
