What year did the 454 come out with the hydraulic roller cam??
A friend of mine has an 88 burb with the 454 but it has the older
style timing cover on it. If I'm correct, the H/R motor has the plactic
timing cover. Anyone know?? THANKS
Mk V started late 95 early 96 for the L29 vortec. just like vortec small block. better cam incremental change in compression and roller cam along with sequential injection. ended in 2000 i belive. it was replaced with the Gen III 8.1l
Gen IV is up to 1990 and is what 99% of all the aftermarket BBC stuff is based on. Mark V L19 is 91 to 95 and still uses flat tappets and was the worst design BBC GM produced. In 96 GM brought out the Gen VI Vortec engine which was a roller block.
