I am going to get a free set of 14 inch weld racing draglites and I was wondering what is the biggest rear tire that I can stick back there. I plan on getting a Radial T/A raised white letter tire. What size should I get? Thanks ahead of time.
14" wide? They won't fit without some major metal work like a back half. The typical largest rim without metal work and depending on the tire is a 15 x 10.
If they're 14" diameter, sell them. Nobody runs 14" diameter rims on a performance car.

Why is it that when ever someone posts something on the board, they don't get the info that they ask for. 14 inches high, yes. On top of that, this is my street car. Yes, I have seen people run 14 inch rears on race cars, and yes I still need the info I was looking for. Like I said, I want to get the biggest radial T/A to fit in the rear of the bird. What size can I use?
You get what you ask for when you supply proper information. How wide are the rims? A tire size depends on that. If the rim is 6" wide, you're not going to fit a tire designed for a 10" wide rim onto it.
14" on a performance car? Sure if you have a stock 69 Camaro or Nova with stock tires. I never said anything about it being a race car.
Are the 14x10 for the back?? You should be able to put 50 series if they make them in a 14 inch tire. I have 15x10 in the back of my camaro and 15x8 in the front. I have 295/50/15 and on the front I have 205/60/15 on the front.
dennine2, I believe that I could put bigger than a 50 tire but thanks for the proper kind of answer. I checked with another forum and they said I should go for a 245/60/r14. I think that sounds about right.
all4u you are welcome, I was trying to help alittle. My wife is the one that typed the post and it should said 295/50/15 on the rear and 205/60/15 on front. But that does sound about right for the 14 inch wheels. You should have no problem with those tires. Good luck!
Your WIFE?!?! A wife that is in to cars and actually understands?!?! You are one very lucky man! Thanks for the info. I guess for an extra set of rims for free, I can't beat it. I will check into them on thursday.
