Rebuild 91 305 TPI

Hi everyone I'm new here,
I have a 91 GTA with the 305 TPI that needs rebuilding. I really just want to keep it simple but would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on upgrades or things that should be address about these motors during rebuild. It will never be raced so I'm not looking to upgrade to a 350. Who has the best rebuild kits? Thanks,

There are so many 305 posts on this site. Do a quick search and you will find all kinds of upgrade parts.

Re: Rebuild 91 305 TPI

I did try a search first but most of the answers recommend upgrading to the 350. I would like to stay # matching and not have to change the stock computer. Anyone do a near stock rebuild? What cam did you use and do you recommend it? What rebuild kit do you recommend? Thanks,

Re: Rebuild 91 305 TPI

I was looking at the tech data for 91 and noticed the manual cars had 230hp where my auto has only 205hp. Anyone know what the differences are?

Auto Vs. manual... there is less power loss in the drive train with a manual.
