Wiper motor keeps blowing fuses?

I went to turn my wiper motor on , they move to start then the fuse pops right away. Any ideas? I went all the way up to a 30a fuse and it blew that too.

Re: Wiper motor keeps blowing fuses?

you my friend have a short in the circuit, dont just throw higher resistance fuses in there chances are u could have burnt some wires cuz of that but anyways get a test light and check, better yet a multimeter, im not so good with electric stuff so i have someone else look at it seeing as how i wouldnt know where to start

Re: Wiper motor keeps blowing fuses?

Sounds like you have a short to ground. Check all you wires from your switch to you motor. Also check to make sure nothing else runs on the circuit such as a washer fluid pump that may have damage to the harness as well. Make sure you don't have a wire that is damaged and may be rubbing up on some metal and grounding out.

Re: Wiper motor keeps blowing fuses?

I have a 4thgen dash so the ground could be the cause.
