Pistons/rods question

I'm building 383 stroker and I'm wondering if I buy parts separately
(pistons, rods) how can I be sure that they'll fit?

I know that there are diferent journal sizes, but I'm talking about
piston to rod fitment. Are all aftermarket pistons and rods in
same dimensions, or what should I look for?

Thanks

Re: Pistons/rods question

Yes, piston to rod is the same. You just buy rods and pistons that are both either 'pressed pin' or 'floating'. As long as they are both matched that way, they will fit.
I'd recommend pressed pin, unless you rebuild it every season...

Journal sizes are the same. You buy parts for a 383, not for a 400 or 350. You need 383 pistons, and rods that are the right length for those pistons.

So you might get "383 pistons", that say "for use with 6.0" rods", so then you need to buy 6" rods.
Just that simple.

Thanks, that's what I needed!
