It'll work. Is this the roller or flat tappet cam version?

If the pistons are stock Goodwrench, they'll be dished with valve reliefs.

Exactly what GM engine is this? "gmparts" doesn't really match anything I've heard. I assumed "Goodwrench", which is a "service van fleet" type replacement engine. GM Performance Parts is a slightly different story, but most of them still had pistons with at least a slight dish.

They typically had pistons with dish/valve reliefs totaling about 12cc. True flat tops will have valve reliefs with totaling around 5cc. If there are no valve reliefs, it's full dish pistons, which are 20+cc.

Pink rods were replaced with PM rods sometime in the early 90's. PM's were cheaper and performed just as well as the pinks. ARP rod bolts are more important than pink vs. PM rods.
