I know that gm performance parts used to sell un-machined crank forgings for the 4.3 v6, but they don't seem to anymore. Does anyone know where I can get a forged crank for a 4.3 v6, machined or not? When I did a google search for it, I found a Hotrod article where they mentioned a 3.75" stroke crank for it, does anyone know where that came from? I might be able to get a stock stroke crank from the same place.
Couple years ago I did a 4.3 and there were basically 2 choices. Cheap factory cast cranks and begabucks billet cranks. I didn't find a workable "in between" solution at the time.
How much was the billet crank? Where did you find it?
I already have a 340-350 horsepower 4.3, but I do plan to rebuild it, and since I already have a complete motor I can afford to spend extra on things, like heads and crank.
I went to their website, and it seems to be working. I didn't see any v6 cranks there, I went to home>engine>chevy, and didn't see any v6 cranks on the only 3 pages of chevy engine parts. I'll still try calling them though.
I may have just answered my own original question, but my answer seems to good to be true: http://store.survivalmotorsports.com...3480-5700.html . I'll have to call to verify this. $231 just seems to good for a 4340 forged Scat crank.
