EGR VALVE VACCUME LINE PLACEMENT TPI

I had a scan done on my 86 iroc this past weekend and they told me that it came up with code 38. that it needs a new EGR valve. but the guy who had the car before me blocked the vacume line at the EGR valve. Once i remove the plenum and all the other mess that is there. where does the line hook to? the haynes manual doesnt tell me much at all. does anyone have pictures to send me so i can see where this vacume line goes so my car stops surging and has a lower idle. thank you. pm me if you have pictures and ill send my email to you. thanks again

The egr vacuum line hooks up to the egr solinoid. On my 89 iroc, the egr solinoid is located under the external coil on the pass. side of engine.

ok i will look for it once i remove the plenum and stuff. I was gonna replace the selanoid since im there but autozone, napa, and the chevy dealer told me that it is dicontinued so be VERY careful with it as not to break it. ill do my best to find what you are talking about and hopefully all goes well thanks. any pictures by chance??

I will see what I can do for a pic. My car is buried in a foot of snow right now. Got hit by the snow storm in indiana. I think I might have spare parts I can mock up to get a pic.

Thank you . that would be awesome if you could show me a pic. I talked to the dude at autozone and he told me to splice it into the pvc valve line. that way it only gets suction to the EGR when i accelerate. the haynes manual says i should have a egr selanoid near the the distributer(so did you) but its NON existant. ill pm u with my email. thanks alot mike
