On 'birds, there's no way to fit the Camaro TPI air piece under a STOCK hood. Not enough room over the radiator wall. I tried....

Maybe with a cowl induction hood or a RA1 hood. But with a RA1 hood, you'd simply use that opening to get an even better ram air effect.

But it is flat in the middle, where the tubing would go to the throttle body. Which is why I said maybe with a RA1 & didn't mention the RA2 hood.

You'd hafta figure out how to mount the hood latch too (unless you have pins) Since the 'bird latch is held in place by that big flat metal plate, that would hafta be replaced with a Camaro piece.

Maybe you could swap the Camaro latch parts over as well, but you'd still have the hood clearance to deal with, over the radiator.

Instead of using a Camaro piece, you could duct your cool air from the nostrils in your RA2 hood.

With the air filter box they specifically sell to do that, or make your own version of it.

Use this for the filter mount....(Hawks has it. I'm sure others have it too)

Duct it like this to the TBI.....

And use this.....
eBay example to the TBI/carb hat above I believe he bought his at Pep Boys, IIRC.

Piece of cake!

Re: Tpi ram air box for a tbi??

I am planning on making a similar setup, but I have a few questions for you:

1. What size pipe did you use to run from the air box to the snorkel? (I.D.)
2. What kind of rubber connectors did use use to attach the two sections together?
3. Was there a noticeable difference in performance after the mod?

I have a 91 RS convertible that needs a breath of fresh air...if you know what I mean.

Thanks
