sounds like a bad maf sensor. take a look inside and do you see the wire glowing hot? sounds like it is sending bad information to the computer, but i only work on map, so there are others more knowledgeable about maf.
when you hit the gas and increase your rpm - once i said moving and got jumped on - as of you are going to increase your engine speed and be sitting still - you increase your flow of air over the wire and it compensates with the computer for the change of circumstances.
running rough when its on? maybe the computer chip is bad and not the right one for your setup. have you checked that one? you cant use a map chip on a maf car. dont even know if they will run at all.

i was looking for maf information and i came on a site which lookedlike a youtube program on how to tear them down. i hit it and i got a message about open or download. thought i would want to see it over and over so i downloaded it.
VIRUS ALERT. it got past 6 firewalls and virus systems. it got me. i opened it and boom it started opening windows all over the place. then i got a virus alert message and was asked if i wanted to delete it. the problem? it was the virus putting that up and eveytime i hit delete i was actually answering YES to a number of questions aout what it could do in my computer. i was saved by 2 things.
the first thing i did was turn of the wireless - but leave the machine on. that is important. if you turn the machine off it will infect everything when you turn it back on.
i closed every window until nothing was moving and looked at the task mgr for action and there was none.
well i turned on every single wall and every cookie hunter i had.
the systems finsihed about 4:00 am this morning. they chased the little bugger down and killed it, but not until it opened more than 20 windows trying to fulfill its programing and getting out into the www and multiply and infect others.
so if you come across this site dont download it and if you do - keep the machine on but kill its internet connection and then run every clean up program you have. it will take 4 to 8 hours to get it hunted down - it goes everywhere.
and when you finally beat it and turn the system off - pull the power plug, pull the battery, and let sit for 5 minutes, which will use up all resident power where it can hide. and yes they do hide, and where they hide they mess things up.
