white smoke did i cause any damage to my engine

upon doing an hsr swap and trying to fix all my mechanical glitches,

my 88 iroc puffs put white smoke with a strong fuel smell. seems to be running very rich, Car sat for quite a while i noticed the oil has signs of water so i replaced the oil. added new gas replaced fuel filter and added fuel injector cleaner, oil and fuel stabilizer. I drove the car 25 miles or so back home from the shop with white smoke pouring out the exhaust the whole time. Car has good power idles a bit high(hsr issue) but will not stop smoking. Im leaning towards a water leak from a faulty intake gasket since i recently replace that, ? is driving the car 25 miles could i have caused any further damage, i doubt i have a head gasket issue but even if i did would replacing my heads, intake gasket cure my problem. Any help is apreciated thanks

Remove the intake, get new FelPro gaskets and Edelbrock gasgacinch, and get the intake sealed to the heads. Then replace the oil and filter. Running righ makes black smoke, coolant makes white smole, oil makes blue smoke, and if you have a TH350 with a bad vacuum modulator, that makes white smoke, but not huge billowing clouds.
